You may see more relaxed dining attire on some cruises vs others depending on the port of embarkation. Not opening a can of worms, but it is true. I take the middle road with it and wear dress slacks, pressed collared shirt with tie, and a blazer for Cruise Elegant night.
Haven't seen many women wearing the gowns as in the past lately. Most seem to wear smart looking dresses. Just my take on it.
