Try to get some sleep on the flight. I take lots of reading material, sudokus, and a journal. There's usually a movie or two I find interesting since I seldom go to the movies at home. I've even heard of people taking their Christmas cards with them to address envelopes and write notes. If you knit, crochet, or cross stitch, take a small project to work on.
