Royal Caribbean lowers drinking age on cruises from non-North American ports
Coming sometime this spring (2012), the default drinking age on all Royal Caribbean cruises sailing from non-North American ports will be 18. While the current policy has allowed this with a parental waiver, the new policy drops the waiver requirement. If they are 18, they can buy booze. This new policy reflects the norms for those regions of the world.
Cruises from the United States and Canada will continue to have the 21 year age requirement.
