I guess most of us here are better able to assess the situation and respond appropriately given an emergency, and not panic.
I for one would not even think of heading back to the cabin if I knew no one in my party was there. To me, life jackets in a cabin are a last resort safety device and not the primary. In fact I 'think' Royal Caribbean doesn't even store life vests in the cabins anymore. They are all located at or near muster stations. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
I think I read someplace that the cabin door locks can function with a total power failure via battery backup systems. I need to verify that.
