The walking tour is definitely a good idea; it's a great way to get up-close and personal with a city.
You may also want to consider a ride to Butchart Gardens if it is offered. The Gardens are open until 10:00 p.m. through September 3; I've only been there during the day but I think it would be absolutely stunning at dusk with the lights on.
