Crystal Cruises has just made it even more attractive for solo travelers to cruise aboard its luxury ships by offering a 5% single supplement rate - its lowest in 2004 - on five fall Caribbean sailings. In addition, extra Ambassador Hosts, carefully screened gentlemen who are accomplished ballroom dancers, will be aboard each of the sailings to dance and socialize with solo women travelers. And, although Crystal is better known for longer sailings, three of the departures feature seven-day itineraries, creating an ideal opportunity for first-time Crystal passengers to sample the line's award-winning ships.

The 5% single supplement is available on four Crystal Harmony cruises to the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, FL: two seven-day sailings round-trip from Fort Lauderdale departing Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, a 10-day cruise round-trip from Fort Lauderdale departing Nov. 29, and a 12-day cruise from Fort Lauderdale to New Orleans departing Dec. 9. The supplement also is available on Crystal Symphony's seven-day Caribbean voyage round-trip from Fort Lauderdale departing Dec. 15.

Seven-day cruise fares start at $1,495 per person, double occupancy; single travelers add $74.75 to this fare, paying only $1,569.75 for sole stateroom occupancy (less than $225 per day).

"Single travelers want to feel safe and pampered while on vacation," says Bill Smith, Crystal's senior vice president, sales and marketing. "These Caribbean cruises provide options that are close to home with convenient domestic departures. And with a low single supplement on top of already reduced fares, they're a great value."

Aboard Crystal's ships, single travelers can experience all of the exceptional service, quality appointments, space and amenities of a first-class luxury hotel. There are numerous dining and entertainment venues for social camaraderie, facilitated by the cruise line's signature Ambassador Hosts, as well as Crystal Dining Room seating that provides dinner companions. In addition, the 940-guest Crystal Harmony and Crystal Symphony, which have both earned "Best Mid-Sized Ship" honors from the readers of CondéNast Traveler magazine, offer a variety of learning programs. Through its innovative Creative Learning Institute, Crystal has partnered with quality educators to provide instruction in foreign language through Berlitz, music lessons from Yamaha, and wellness classes through The Cleveland Clinic and the Tai Chi Cultural Center. Among other activities, guests also enjoy organized shore excursions, bridge play and instruction, indulgent beauty treatments in the lavish Crystal Spa, golf clinics, dance classes, and daily and evening dancing opportunities with Ambassador Hosts.
