Although tipping (per se) is not expected by travel agents, it is not unusual for happy customers to say "thanks" in other ways if the travel agent has worked very hard (many do - some do not) to put together a great, worry-free package.

My partner is often "recognized" by his clients (bottle of vintage wine, gift purchased in the country visited by his client, gift certificate for dinner at a local restaurant) - but then, it is not unusual for his bookings to be in excess of $50,000 per couple!

It sounds to me like your travel agent has gone the "extra mile" for you...
