There are two types of two-way (walkie-talkie) radios: family radio service (FRS) models, which have a maximum range of two miles, and the more powerful general mobile radio service (GMRS) models, with a maximum range of five miles. Expect to pay about $40 to $200 a pair. Any two-way with a range over 5 miles requires a license (which no seems to pay any attention to). I have Motorola talkabout T5700s. They work well most of the time except when other people are using their's at the same time or when we were far apart. If you're on deck 4 and the other person is on deck 11 and opposite
end of the ship don't be suprised if they don't work. Make sure you get the feature with a call button which most models have. Let us know what you decide now that you got our attention
