You'd also better have one helluva good life vest. The eddies and undertows created by such ships can be deadly. A towboat with a full load of barges on the intercoastal waterways throtteling up creates enough undertow to sink an empty and sealed 55 gallon drum for several seconds. One of the training demonstration that were once done for new hires with Ashland Oil on their barge lines.

Stick to ski boats or get yourself a really good life insurance policy to take care of your family before trying it.
