We are planning on renting a car in Cozumel so that we can check out several places without having to worry about cabs. A car from Hertz is $40 (5 people traveling) including the insurance that's required. I might even be able to get it for free through work.
Is this a good idea? Is it hard/dangerous to drive yourself in Cozumel? We plan to go to the San Gervasio ruins and a hotel beach after and maybe some snorkeling at Chankanaab. Is Chankanaab open again? Any recommendations for good snorkeling at a hotel beach?
