Possible Excursion choices

For our Alaska cruise on Holland America in August, we (2 adults and 1 child) are looking at doing the following:

In Juneau:

Sled Dog Summer Camp

or

Whale Watching & Wildlife Quest

and in Ketchinkan

Alaska Bear Adventure.

Any thoughts by those who may have been on these excursions would be appreciated?

A lot of it will depend on your interests. If wildlife is your focus, I might opt for the whale watching in Juneau, but if having a new experience is your preference, then either one will work. They all sound like good choices!

I suppose it will depend what my son (9) wishes to do! Puppies vs whales.

I did the whale watching in Juneau. We saw alot of whales and had Orcas come up and swim right along the excursion boat. I have a blue eyed Siberian Husky so I know how cute those dogs can be though!!

We chartered a boat in Juneau. We find it better to get a small boat, you can get closer. We us ak alasaka whale watching. In ketchican we did a float plane with seawind aviation. That was the best part of our trip.

I'm not sure if you'd want your child to do it, but the helicopter ride to the glaciers is the best!

Whale watching in Juneau is really great. We saw LOTS, as well as eagles and sea lions.

I also agree with mjones though. The heli/glacier ride is one of the best excursions I've taken...well worth the money in my opinion.
