Got back last Wednesday 7.6.06 from Alaska inside passage north to south ending Vancouver. Had fantastic weather, was in 70s at Anchorage/Whitter when we embarked. Only light drizzle one day at Ketchikan. Sapphire lived up to her reputation, a beautiful ship. Did the dogsledding on glacier - fantastic with trip in helicopter. Captain Larry's whalewatching from Juneau lived up to his reputation. Would thoroughly recommend these two trips. Did our own thing in the other ports easy to walk around. There is a good guided walk around Skagway for about an hour. Recommend Barbs for Fish & Chips (Fisherman's Wharf) in Victoria.
Can't wait to go back to Alaska saw humpback, orca, loads of bald eagles, moose, sealions, bear. Fantastic. Could hardly tear ourselves from the top of ship to eat our meals wanted to just soak in that scenary.
Thanks for all your tips before hand. For those of you who don't want to dress up - don't worry, we didn't, not what we go on holiday for - but plenty did. Just eat in the buffet - plenty of choice and similar to main restaurant, we certainly didn't feel we missed out. Get up early for those fantastic sun rises!
Glad you had such a wonderful time. Was it
really in the 70"s? I've read the high is 60 degrees in June. We are leaving 6/15 for the
voyage of the glaciers cruise. did you go into denali park? thanks,
