Hello again, I would like to ask if anyone recommends any other site to book shore excursions other than through the cruise ship. Thanks in advance.

Hi mrtonyla13, can you shed some light on the ports you'll be visiting? Also, what do you enjoy doing? I moved your post here so there might be more response. Have you checked out this section? You can use your "find" feature in the upper left hand corner, type in your ports, and it will pull up all the posts made about them. Hope we can help you

Good morning Penny and thanks for the help. I will be visiting Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Victoria BC. I have also tried searching the cruise line website for excursions and will try to match those prices with other websites. Since this is my first time to Alaska I am open to try anything. Again thanks for your help.

The only excursion we did in Alaska was the train in Skagway. We did it through the cruiseline because at that time, the price difference was minimal - however, I've heard that there is now a significant difference. The terminal is right off the pier if you do the train. We didn't do excursions in either Juneau or Ketchikan - just walked around town and went exploring. The natural musueum in Juneau was wonderful. Haven't been to Victoria. Whatever you choose to do, you should enjoy Alaska - what a beautiful place.

The train in Skagway is a must!

One time in Juneau we took a floatplane to Taku Glacier Lodge. It was a fantastic trip, but pricey. Our last trip to Juneau we took a ship sponsored excursion to Mendenhall Glacier.

In Ketchikan, we took a ride on the Ducks. That was fun. The time before we went to Prince George Lodge. We book all of our excursions on the ship because we feel more comfortable doing that. Many people prefer to find their own tour operators at the port.

Whatever you do in Alaska, you will thoroughly enjoy I'm sure. It's just an awesome experience.
