What is the temperature like in June, while the ship is sailing and while in port? Not sure if there is much difference between the two.

No way to tell. Alaska weather is all over the board, just like the Caribbean. Last year we had temps in the high 40's to mid 50's on our late June cruise. The cruise immediately prior to ours had temps in the 60's and low 70's.

You just have to go prepared for anything. Clothing that can be layered. We also brought collapsible umbrellas that are about 8 inches long when closed up.

That is the best advice Dave. We went in mid June and the sailing before us had temps in the High 70's and we had 50's and low 60's. Weather is weather... you can TRY to predict it, but most of the time you will be wrong.

Dave and Jim is right. We have gone twice in June, once early, once late. We were lucky on both temps were in the 60's and 70's. The week pior on both it rained and was very cool.
Expect rain and cool temps, be happy if you get warm dry weather.

Is July pretty much the same?

The whole Alaska season is unpredictable. The best months generally are June, July, August. But there's never any guarantees. I went once in mid August and had a wonderful week of sunshine and no rain.

Weather anywhere can be fickle. It is what it is.
