I have an extra day which I will be spending in Vancouver after my cruise and was considering taking the Gray Line Deluxe City tour. Has anyone taken this tour? If so, what was your opinion of the tour?

Thanks. I basically want to see Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown, the aquarium in Stanley Park, and the major sights.

All are within walking distance from cruise port, Canada Place, except Chinatown. If you dock at the secondary warf, then its advisable to take a taxi to Gastown, then its still walkable to Stanley Park and the Marine Park which is in the park. From Canada Place you would walk to your right for the park and left for gastown. Chinatown is actually good 15 blocks past gastown, so it is easy to hail a taxi to get there for approximately $12-17 CDN If your not much into walking, the park is a short $7 or so taxi ride, but Gastown is deffinately close...a couple blocks. Another good walking site is half way to park you will run across Denman St. Lots of neat little shops up there. Its a good street for little eateries too. There is a place called CUPCAKES...the have THE best!! The park is HUGE. You might spend most your day there. A clydesdale horse/carraige for groups of ppl runs through and around the park. Their situated just past the main parking lot on the road that encircles the whole park.

We took the hop-on, hop-off trolley/doubledecker bus tour which Gray Line sells, and were very happy with it. Walking distance has a different definition for different people; I would not have wanted to walk to Stanley Park and the aquarium from Canada Place! The tour does have its drawbacks - walking is much less expensive, and you have to make sure to catch the last trolley or bus where you are (and make sure you are on the correct line, as there is a competing company that also offers a similar trolley tour) or you willhave a long walk back. However, the drivers are funny and well-informed, and each has great tales to tell! I'd recommend it.
