Radiance to Alaska - 9/2

Going on first cruise RCL Radiance of the Seas on 9/2.

What excursions do you recommend for Juneau and Icy Strait.

Also any other tips for this cruise is appreciated.

For Juneau Mendanhall Glacier. Stop by the Red Dog Saloon. September is a great time for shopping in port too. It's getting to the end of the season and there are alot of sales! I'm not a shopper normally, but I brougt back a whole rollbag full of stuff. Temperature can be iffy, so pack some warmer clothes (light sweater, long sleeves). Don't forget rain gear. Sorry didn't visit Icy Strait. But I would like to see the bears.

I think a helicopter glacier tour in Juneau is well worth the money. I'm so glad I did it. We spent about 20 minutes walking about the ice fields. It was wonderful. Juneau is also a good place for whale watching and has some quality shops amidst the tourist junk.

I haven't been to Icy Strait.

Oh, the Radiance is very nice too. We took her on a mini-cruise once to Victoria and Vancouver from Seattle.

Helicopter/Trekking is definately well worth the money.
