Take any "deal" you find into a good TA. They will explain what it is and if they can match or beat it. My wife booked our first cruise on line. We had hidden charges, and no one there to answer question. After that we used a good TA. Never cost us any more money. As a matter of fact our TA took the time to check prices now and then and got us some money back when prices dropped for our cruise.

Ok, sound like using a travel agent is really the way to go. Does anyone have any recommendations? I've never used one before so I'm not sure where to look. The only one I know of is Morris.

We don't allow recommendations of specific agents to be posted publicly. I suggest you do look locally, and I also recommend you look for an agent with CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) affiliation, or NACTA (National Association of Career Travel Agents).

If you go HERE you can enter your zip code and get a list of CLIA agents. Look for agencies that specialize in cruises and have agents with ACC, MCC, or ECC credentials. They are explained at the CLIA site. It isn't a guarantee but they have had to do a lot of work to attain those titles.

This is just one man's opinion. There are many local agents out there who are simply "great agents". Don't look at a fancy office and large staff as being necessarily a good thing. Many of us use agents that are solo operations, often working out of their home.
