Has anyone been on the semi-submersible sealife discovery tour? Was it worth it? Any suggestions for Sitka? We will bel visiting Alaska in the middle of May.

We went on a marine wildlife boat tour while in Sitka. When we were leaving the harbor, we saw the semi-submersible and were not impressed. They barely leave the harbor. We went with a small independent operator named Capt. Paul and Gallant Adventures. We had a blast, saw all kinds of things and were glad we did that instead of the semi-submersible. Our friends did the 4x4 tour and had a lot of fun also. After getting done with the boat tour, we had some yummy fish tacos at a cool roadside vendor named Chicks and a Stick and then walked to the totem park.

Thanks for the info. Haven't been able to find any reviews on that tour anywhere, which was making us wonder whether it would be worth it. I think we will maybe look for something independant when we get there (who knows how tired we will be by the time we arrive there anyway, haha). And we want something different, not the same things we have seen already. Thanks for responding. We leave next month, can't wait!

I have never been to Sitka. My daughter is a Flight Attendant for Alaska Airlines and she says Sitka is a nice town to just walk and explore the shops and restaurants. May be a good spot to just go at your own pace and relax.

Have fun,

Mark
