I am considering flying in to Seattle the day before our scheduled cruise, renting a car and driving to Vancouver to board our ship. This will save us nearly $1000 in airfare.
Are there any drawbacks that I'm not considering? Would we have any problems getting in to Canada?

There may be a slight back up at the border depending on the time of day you arrive, but overall a very viable and relatively easy alternative to the high cost of flying into Vancouver.
Thanks Nancy. Can I ask you a coule of other questions?
I noticed that there are three possibilites of airports when I search for airfare in Seattle. Can you recommend the best airport since I'm driving to Vancouver? And would you definately recommend that we get our passports?
ZC,
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (or SeaTac) is the main airport and is well located for travel to Vancouver.
As for passports - if you have enough time before your cruise departs, I would definitely get passports. They make the border crossing that much easier and in all liklihood they are soon going to be required for any travel outside of the US anyway.
