Is the water good and drinkable onboard ship or is bottled water the only way to go? Is it expensive onboard? Can you ship your own water? Thx for input.

Ummm.. What cruise line are we speaking of?? My experience in Europe is that the drinking water is fine on the ship as well as in many ports. You have your exceptions like Venice, but overall water on the ship is potable.
This subject comes up frequently and most of us, but not all, feel that the water on the ship, since it is usually distilled right on the ship, is cleaner and better tasting than most bottled waters.
Ken, I think that you are right... I am just waiting for an answer from a compadre of mine. If, in fact, they don't have desalinization, then I will recommend bottled water for the duration of the cruise.
Right Ken; I have been drinking tap water on ships since my first cruise in 1974; it is distilled sea water, sometimes augmented with purified water.
My wife has always been squeamish about drinking tap water, so a few cruises back I challenged her to a taste test; and you guessed it--she picked tap water over Evian for taste in a blind test; and so did I.
