Has anyone been on a MSC Cruise lately? I went on one in March 2002, and it was great. It was the Melody, and a smaller ship, with great Italian food. They recently began cruising with a new large ship called the Lirca, which is cruising in the Carribean. Just was wondering if anybody had sailed on any of the fleet's cruises lately???

I have not sailed with MSC yet, but will be sailing on the Lirica April 1. I plan to write a Mega-Review for the CruiseReviews site, which will be posted when I return. Hopefully, I will have lots of wonderful information to share.

We went on the Lirica Jan 26,2004 . We had a wonderful time. They had a few problems but I am sure by now they have them all worked out .It is a beautiful ship. Have a great time

I have posted a thorough review of the Lirica on CruiseReviews.com with lots of pictures. Now that Rick Sasso has joined MSC I suspect there will be dramatic changes on the ship. The ship itself is absolutely beautiful.
Went on the MSC Lirica for the July 4, 2004 Mediterranean cruise.
Found the ship to be very clean, but the ship workers not up to Royal Caribbean standards.
Although it was a good value for the money, the ship staff needs training to get up to the big league standards.
Thanks for providing input on your experience on the Lirica. I think there will be some growing pains, but I believe, given time, the staff and quality of services will much more closely align with the beauty of the ship itself. The fact that MSC has catered to the European market for so long, it will take some adjustments to satisfy the American market and our expectations.
Has anyone been on the new MSC Opera? My husband and I are scheduled to sail on her on Feb. 26, 2005. We are anxious to hear about it from others. We are frequent cruisers but never on this line before.
