Hi everyone in Chat land,
I will be sailing on the Costa Med Dec 7. After over 25 cruises, this will be my first Costa Cruise. Anyone been on the ship, or have any advice?

Hi Nancy,

I was invited to see the ship when she visited Hamburg during inaugural festivities earlier this year. I have written a fully illustrated ship review: http://www.ruderhaus.de/costa-med_e.htm

I also had lunch on board which was very good - I did not expect decent food after reading in many reviews that Costa's food was supposed to be the worst of any of the major players.

Best regards,

Raoul, thanks for sharing. I did check out your photos and review and found it helpful. As for food, interstingly, I had a chance to do a ship inspection of the Costa Atlantica a few months back and of all the ships I was able to inspect and have lunch, the Atlantica had the best food - my meal was excellent. In fact, it was the gracious service and quality of food on this visit that enticed me to try a Costa cruise for myself. Look for my review when I return.

Hi Nancy,

good to learn you also enjoyed the food on Costa. Let's hope it will be like that for the duration of your cruise.

As far as the ship goes, "CostaMediterranea" is too glitzy for my taste, and I probably would not take a cruise on her for that reason. But as far as quality goes, she's very nice (she was built in Finland, after all).

I do look forward to reading your review!

Best regards,
