Pirates Attack the Seabourn Spirit of off Somalia

This is unreal. Two small boats with pirates carrying machine guns and grenade launchers attacked and tried to board the Seabourn Spirit, presumably to plunder the ship. They were repelled by the crew and while bullets hit the ship, the passengers were mustered in an interior cabin. Google "Ship Attacked by Pirates" for the latest news.

The ship is now safe in the harbor of the Seychelles islands. Nobody was hurt, but they had to take out a garnet from a passenger cabin.

I´ve heard, that its recommended, not to sail closer than 100 seamiles to the Somalia coast. But the ship was in a distance from about 70 seamiles. Thank god, they had good engines, so they escaped the pirate boats.
We also heard something about a special weapon, normally used from US military. Don´t know, why the Seabourn Spirit had a weapon like this on board.

I hope you can use this link.....and I hope that all cruise ships have this weapon on board. It's a darned good idea! Not every weapon kills people!
