Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the itinerary of Costa Pacifica. Give us a little more information and I'm sure we will have some suggestions for you.
The ship is due to call at Palermo, C.Vecchia, Savona, Barcellona, Mallorca, Tunis and ending up at my native country Valletta, Malta. Any hints how I could explore these places w/o taking up excursions
Any help is most appreciated
Hi Vassall, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Hope you enjoy Costa as much as we do, they are a great cruise line. There is a section a little further down the main page titled "Europe Port Chat", there is also a FAQ section down at the bottom of the main page with all sorts of tips on travel/excursions. Best wishes and have a great cruise!
I'm sorry Vassall; the only ports on your itinerary to which I've been are Civitavecchia, which was my point of embarkation and disembarkation; Valetta, which I'm sure I could tell you nothing new about, but was, by the way, my favorite stop on the cruise; and Barcelona.
I did two tours in Barcelona: a walking tour and a "Highlights of . . ." tour; both were wonderful. Barcelona is a beautiful, vibrant, picturesque city--see as much of it as you have time for. Just keep your wits about you; petty thieves are abundant.
