small ship cruise to alaska

i am looking for a small ship cruise for a group of 14. a small ship or a large yacht would be perfect...we want to fish, kayak, and go to places that the big boys can't go. can anyone recommend a ship or line to me?

I heartily recommend Cruise West! (See my review in cruisereviews.com; my husband and I were on one of their ships a few years ago.) Another idea is American Safari Cruises, which has very tiny "yachts."

Just FYI - small ships are quite pricey, but if your group's budget will handle it, they are well worth the extra money spent!

You should be aware that booking small ships needs to be done early. If you are looking for a 2006 cruise, you may be too late for that big a group, unless you are very flexible in your dates. For 2007, you should get started contacting the cruise line(s) of your choice soon.
