Tahiti: Regent vs Princess

We're looking to cruise Tahiti some time in March '07 for our 30th aniversary. Regent is about about twice the cost of Princess. Although Regent is 5/6 stars the cost delta is large. Is the ~$5K (for two) extra worth it. We've been on Royal Carb and Carnival numerous times and like them but we've never done a high trip.

Any thoughts.

I would compare the differences of whats included, such as alcohol, gratuities, etc. Then I would look at the difference in the size of ship, number of passengers, and it's amenities. Then determine how important these things are to you and if they're worth that difference. I sailed Tahiti in 1994 on Windstar. It was a wonderful experience. It is one of the most beautiful places I have been.

I've sailed the Paul Gauguin and I would sail her again in a heartbeat! Food, service, the ship itself, the crew and the other passengers were all a "cut above"! Is it worth it? You bet - especially now that Regent is all-inclusive!
