My family and I are going on our first cruse ever. We are going on a 4 day Bahamian cruise aboard Disney's Dream in May that takes us to Nassau and then to Castaway Cay. Any advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. We are a little nervous about going on a cruise. What is there to do and how much can we expect to pay for things to do on the ship? Will our 7 year old son have enough to do?

Relax and enjoy. Soon you will be back here telling us how much fun you had and that you can't wait to book another (or that you already have). Your son will have a ball.

I also bet that you will want a longer cruise next time.

We've not sailed Disney - but from what I've heard from others who have, your 7 year old should not have a problem finding things to do - and neither should the adults traveling with him. Enjoy the cruise and do take advantage of what's offered, fun, relaxation, adventure, good food, pampering, the sea, the fun, the relaxation, etc etc etc

Don't be nervous..You may never see your 7 year old..SO much to do for kids. Husband and I went on Disney cruise little over 3 years ago with no kids. They will give you a pager when you drop off your son for activities..Pagers are expensive (I think $175)..DON'T break it.
On Disney cruises all food and soda is included in price you paid for cruise. There is no casino's on ship..They do offer bingo on ship cause it's something kids can do and kids enjoy bingo..IF kids win an adult needs to be with them to claim cash. I can't remember cost of anything..Memory must be shot!!
Castaway Cay was a BLAST..Have sections for families, one for teenagers and adult only. We spent all out time in adult only section..So I am no help to you..BUT did look like they had a ton of activities for all ages.
We did not like Nassau..We spent that day on ship..Was our "movie" day..Any Disney movie that premier's (speeling off) also premiers on ship.
Any other questions I will try to help

I haven't been on Disney, but seeing as how it is a Disney cruise, I would think there would be plenty for your 7 year old to do without getting bored.

As is the case with BINGO on Royal Caribbean, if a kid wins at BINGO, then an adult must claim the prize, as bingo is still legally a form of gambling.

As I said, I haven't been on Disney, and don't have kids, so I probably can't be much help. I did however, go to Nassau a few years ago. If you like sightseeing, get a cab and go over to the Atlantis Resort. I think it's about a $4.00 cab fare one way if memory serves me correctly. Maybe someone that has been there recently can give an update on the fare.

Not knowing how Disney operates, I can't give you an estimate on how much to pay for things onboard. I know Royal Caribbean uses a cashless system, but don't know if Disney operates the same way.
