My wife & I will be taking our first cruise on the "European Vision" in May 2004 leaving from Venice. Has anyone been on this ship recently? We have all the classic questions on; clothing to take (can you rent a "Tux" on-board), food, excursions,accommodations,ships crew, entertainment, currency of choice, passengers and so-on. If you have any pictures that would be nice.

the question is whether there will be any Festival brochures in the future. As you might have heard, at least two of the company's three largest and newest ships ("Mistral" and "European Stars") have been arrested by creditors. There have been unconfirmed reports that Alstom, which built the ships, has already found a new charter for "Mistral", and reports suggest that Festival might very well lose "European Stars" and "European Vision", as well.

Yes I am aware of this. I have been looking for some Festival brochures for a time and they don't even offer them on their website...Anyhow I hope Festival survives...
Raoul, did you hear that the MISTRAL might go to Pullmantur as they will loose the R5 to Oceania and maybe the R6 too!
I also heard about the ships' been arrested. How long will it take to normalize the situation ?... What do you think ? I'm asking because I was going to join European Stars the beginnig of february... That's awful !!!!
this week's sailing of "European Stars" has been cancelled, and the next voyages might also have to be cancelled. Festival has been continuing negotiations with its creditors, but an outcome has yet to be found.
Everything's possible: From all three ships assuming their scheduled itineraries very soon to Festival losing all three of them.
