Is Cunard opening the barn doors?
Paul Motter reports from Italy that Cunard is considering full a la carte pricing for The Verandah restaurant, which will be a high-end French dining room on the new Queen Elizabeth.
They would charge $6 to $7 for appetizers, $16 to $18 for entrees, and another $6 to $7 for dessert. No tipping is expected.
Is this a good idea, or should they stick with the now-standard practice of having one standard price per guest for the whole meal?
Is someone creating a scene by arguing over their bill in the offing? "You charged me for the lamb but I had the fish!"
