That is a close-in booking! Penny knows a lot about Costa but she left on a Carnival cruise about two hours ago. Perhaps someone else can answer your questions.

Maybe the last minute booking was a big mistake, at the time I made it there were no problems flying to Venice. Now the volcanic ash is back and threatening to close down most UK airports from Sunday to Tuesday. Not really sure what I can do....am looking into whether I can get a train across Europe to Venice as an alternative plan.

I would advise any Americans thinking of flying to Europe for a cruise to think carefully before you book and allow extra days as this volcano in Iceland may still cause flight problems for a few months yet, nobody seems to really know.

The volcano is an unknown menace isn't it? Just sitting there randomly messing things up. At least you have the option of the train to Italy.

The parade is different from the toga party. They have the parade through the dining room. Many people, if not all, dress for the toga party. They will give you instructions for how to wrap the togas. In fact, some people bring crowns, sashes, and jewels to dress up their togas. Not sure about the party out of Venice, but they have it out of Port Everglades, so I would not doubt they have it out of Venice. I don't think you'll be disappointed in Costa, at least I hope not. I really, really love them!

Hope you haven't left, but if you have, Bon Voyage

I've been on Costa twice, both times in Europe, and there was no toga party on either cruise. However, this was about 10 years ago or more, so things may have changed.
