Jay, the clientele on Holland is definitely a bit older than on Carnival or Royal Caribbean, but there were still plenty of activities. No hairy-legs contests, but they did have a newlywed-not so newlywed game, trivia contests, casino, pool, kids' club, etc. I sailed on them last fall and enjoyed it. Not much late-night activities except in a couple bar/lounges, which I'm not into. OK shows, very family-friendly; you won't find any R-rated stuff in the theaters. Movie theaters too. (For more detail, I have a review at
www.knowlton.org/travel - click on Maasdam 2002.) The newest Holland America ships are a bit livelier in decor and apparently trying to attract a bit younger crowd - you might check into those. If your twenty-somethings are real party animals, choose a different cruise line, but if they are somewhat laid back, you should all be fine.
