windstar greek island cruises

Hi all,
I am planning a June 4 2011 cruise for 15 clients to greek islands and windstar ships have the best itinerary for my academic friends. We are bound by leaving from Athens and arriving in Istanbul next year june 4-june 11, 2011. so here is my question to all you seasoned cruisers:

is windstar going out of business? is it a first class cruise ship for its size? would you travel of it? thanks.

Windstar Cruises owned by parent company Ambassador International isn't going out of business. Windstar is a deluxe product. I sailed them many years ago in Tahiti when they were still owned by Holland America Cruise Lines. I would love to do them in the Greek Islands. Windstar is not for those though that need a lot of main entertainment like big casinos and big Broadway/Las Vegas shows. You won't find that on Windstar.

My brother and his wife sailed (really!) on Windstar two years ago for their honeymoon in Europe. They offer an upscale product that is easily first class. As CF says -just don't expect it to be a typical cruise with shows and lots of bands and singers. It is more a sedate cruise, with lots of personal service and high-end food.
