Sundream to Barbados

I just booked on Sundream to Barbados,St Martin, St Kitts etc. to go on March 10,2003. Can any one tell me if it is good idea to take cruise operated tours or go on my own for sight-seeing. Any thing in particular to see in these places? What was your experience on this cruise. In short, please give me as much info as you can.

went on the sister ship sunbird last year to barbados and your other places,
it was our first cruise dont book the trips taxis await you at every port of call and a very good
even cheaper if other people are going to the same places
we went late march weather sea and ship was beautiful
