I am going on Windsurf soon.I had hip surgery about two months ago and wonder if anyone has been on the windsurf ship and experienced any difficulty getting in and out of the "rubber ship to shore" boats?

Hello mblons, and welcome to cruise-chat;
I don't know; I am in pretty good shape for 64 and I find tenders challenging under certain conditions. Climbing into a Zodiac so soon after hip surgery is something you should discuss with your doctor--if you haven't already.
You don't say how soon you are sailing, but I would think anything less than 6 months post-surgery would be cause for some concern.

I'm guessing Windsurf is small enough to use Zodiacs as tenders but getting no help here.

We have taken multiple cruises on Windstar ships and the tenders are boats, not inflatable zodiacs. The only time the zodiacs were utilized were for the scuba divers to get access to their dive spots.
With that said, last December we were on the Windsurf and due to high swells, it was tricky getting on and off the tender. Plus it was a little precarious to get to the tender. You have to walk down a narrow and somewhat steep set of steps to a platform where the tender is waiting. This may prove difficult after your surgery.
