Sailing with my husband on the Queen Victoria next Saturday to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. This is our first time on a cruise. I have cocktail dresses but not long formal gowns as seems to be the code. Will I be the only one?

Welcome to cruise-chat.

You'll be fine with the cocktail dresses, or really any other nice dress. Gowns are not required. You won't be alone.

Nice choice for both a first cruise, and for an anniversary!

Here s a womens answer,,hahaha same as Daves...I always bring fancy black slacks and dressy tops and heels,,,have been on 10 different cruise lines and always fit in....you re cocktail dresses will probably be the fanciest outfit,,,rarely see anyone in "formal"attire like long gown or tux.....relax, have fun, you ll look great and fit right in....PS..have never seen anyone turned away for how they re dressed,,even jeans and tennis shoes...dress code is really "optional" it seems

Thank you, you made my day. The pictures on the information and pictures on the Voyage Guide are misleading, they should have real updated pictures.

I agree with Alexandra. My husband and I traveled on the Queen Mary 2 in April and the Cunard brochures do not depict the dress of the typical guest. I never wore the cocktail dress I packed, only black dressy pants and formal tops with heels and jewelry. My husband did not wear a tux for the formal nights, but a nice dark suit and black tie. He also wore a sportcoat for the less formal nights. We fit in perfectly.
