We are considering the Danube cruise on Amadeus as well. How was the weather in September? Were you pleased with the food? Would love any info you can provide--we are considering a top deck cabin--can you advice fore or aft, port or startboard. Thanks so much!

While I have not done the Danube cruise, the Amadaggio is a beautiful ship and the food and service are outstanding!!! I am a very "picky" eater and could not have been happier. Since this is a river cruise, there is little difference between port and starboard views, but you do want to select a cabin as far forward as possible - near the suites. The engines are in the aft section of the ship and there can on occassion be noticeable vibrations/noise near the aft. The top deck of staterooms offers the best views by far.

No there are no special single cabins. The last I heard is that they do offer a guaranteed share program for Cat. B for single travelers. If you don´t want to share a cabin single price is 150% of the twin cabin price.

Well we have booked with Amadeus for the Sept. 3 2008 cruise and look forward to it. Will do both the Prague and Budapest extensions. We have gotten cabins on the Violin deck and look forward to a splendid time.
