Default The SS Oceanic: Crew Members and Passengers
The SS Oceanic is such an interesting ship to read about because of its rich history as a passenger vessel that has served for four different companies. I want to know if there are crew members who has served onboard her while she was in service for the following companies:

1. Oceanic - Home Lines (1965-1986)
2. Big Red Boat 1 - Premier Cruises (1986-2000)
3. Oceanic - Pullmantur (2001-2009)
4. The Oceanic - The Peaceboat (2009 - Present)

In addition, I want to know about the stories of the passengers experience onboard the vessel. Especially from those who have sailed on her for Homes Lines, Premier, Pullmantur, and Peaceboat. What were your thoughts about the ship?

For those who have sailed onboard the Oceanic for all four shipping companies, were there any differences with the services and accommodations that you have noticed when you had booked a cruise on her for the Home Lines up to The Peaceboat?

Let me know of your first hand account about the SS Oceanic. Thank you!!!

My husband and I sailed on her twice when she was with Home Lines. Wonderful line, wonderful memories. Those were the days when you had to rent a deck chair if you wanted one and it was always on the deck and in the same place everyday. There were two formal nights but the other nights were cocktail dress nights. The menu was extensive, chicken galantine was one of the daily offerings and the service was silver service. Every night there were small pizza squares on the table to nibble on while waiting for a cocktail. We were offered a salad course, a fish course, a pasta course, an entree', dessert and coffee and many of the passengers chose something from all five of the course offerings as well as dessert and coffee. Every evening there was a midnight buffet, pizza offered in the nightclub which closed at 1am and in the lounge that closed at 2am. The ship's staff was Italian.

Hi everyone,
As you know, the Oceanic is on it's final voyage with Peaceboat. After that, the ship might get a one way ticket to Alang like the SS Topaz. Here is a message that I was asked to pass on to those who have every cruise onboard this ship:

I know that this isn’t much. But we can at least voice our thoughts about saving the SS Oceanic through a signature petition. Here is the link:

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/823/1...he-ss-oceanic/

If you feel that the ship deserves to avoid the scrapyard, please sign and voice your personal memories about the ship. This is a ship that is worth saving.

This link is no spam. It provides us to a least express our love for this vessel in the same manner as it was express with the Pacific Princess that was recently sold for scrap as well. Only your kind comments can save this unique ship.
