How would you compare it to an open water cruise?

There are actually a lot of similarities between the American Queen and an open water cruise. The format of the daily events is very similar and the proposition of different ports and shore excursions exists on both types of cruises. Of course, one never leaves sight of land and there is virtually no motion, whatsoever during the entire cruise. Actually, it would make a great first cruise for folks prone to motion sickness or otherwise interested in river life.
