I just received the new brochure for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. 7 night Alaska cruise next summer. 301 square foot suite, round trip air, included shore excursions, included beverages at all bars, daily bar set-up in the cabin, included gratuities, all dining options included....$3600 per person. Sounds expensive but perhaps not so much given it is an upscale line. I am seriously thinking of pulling the trigger on this.
When you add up how much you typically spend on shore excursions, drinks, sodas, bottled water, tips, airfare -- Regent's price will look a lot better. Moving to an upscale line is worth a lot, too. If you can live without the large selection of entertainment venues, the huge casinos, and the "high stim" factor, you'll really like Regent. I've sailed them and they're great.
Innovation has won out this time. After looking at things the Allure is coming up next year for us. Regent would be more in line with just the two of us. Not much for a teenager to do...probably not many other teenagers either.
