Nassau: Dolphin Swim or Atlantis Aquaventure?

Greetings,

I'm a first-time cruiser sailing on the Carnival Imagination on 1/14/07 with my husband, sort of a second honeymoon. We're both late-20s.

After reading the excursion descriptions, we're torn between the Atlantis Aquaventure and the Dolphin Swim. What would you recommend?

Hi LuvlyLibrarian, welcome to Cruise-Chat. We did our swim with the dolphins in Cozumel and it was the best experience I've ever had. The dolphins are amazing creatures, they're so strong yet so gentle with humans. This is just my personal opinion, I would recommend the swim with the dolphins to anyone though. We did the dolphin encounter in Nassau and found it to be an absolute rip-off. We spent close to 400$ to be in the pool with the dolphins for less then 10 minutes. During the encounter the employees to pictures and videos which you could be afterwards for the princely sum of 60$ for a 5 minute DVD.
Just my opinion.

Did you do the encounter or the swim? It makes a difference. We did the swim, we were in the water with them for over 30 minutes. It was $169/pp and worth every cent to me.

We did the encounter. I also heard from many board memebers that the one in Cozumel is much better than the one in Nassau.

Could be Cozumel is better, we went to Paradise Island in Nassau and shopped at the straw market. And the encounter is not as good as the swim, the encounter in Cozumel you didn't even get to go in the water with them.
