We are looking at a "shoretrips" excursion in St. Martin - swimming with the dolphins in Anguilla. Has anyone done this - do you recommend it - is $238 too expensive? Thanx for your input.

Swimming with the Dolphins is the most awesome experience we ever had. Our excursion was the same price. St. Maarteen has a shopping mall at the port. You can take island tours from the ship, but most drivers will take you around the island for $40.00. The advantage of booking with the cruise lines is they will wait for you if you are on a sponsored tour and are late. If you go on your own, be sure to be back on time or they will leave you.

Shore Trips is an excellent company to work with, and from my experience they hire good local guides for their tours. I'd not hesitate to recommend them.

Incidentally, if you booked your cruise through a travel agent, please ask her/him to book your Shore Trips excursions for you. They will earn a little commission from it and it won't cost you any extra.
