I have heard that carnival gives out vouchers for free bracelets, etc. while in ports. Can anyone tell me our the shops where you get these free items by the pier or downtown in Nassau, St.Thomas, and St. Marrten. Is it worth the hassle?

Not worth it. It's just something that Diamonds International uses to get people to visit their stores. Those shops are everywhere, usually really close to the pier.
I agree...the bracelets are not worth the time you have to spend at the port talk. I was really disappointed in the talks...just all about jewelry not much about the other activities in each port.
I also noticed when we were on the Glory in Sept., that they would offer "free" stuff if you attend certain talks but would never tell you how to get the free stuff.
The freebies are junk.....probably made with lead.....they also give away free sapphires...not worth the walk....Each cruisline does have some connection with the main vendors...but I don't think they own any of them....You will see your cruise director in many of the shops...making deals....but there are good deals...and then some that aren't...just be careful of what BIG purchases you do make....my wife usually only does the BIG stuff...oh well, it's only money...Enjoy your cruise...
Years ago, Diamond's International gave away free "diamond earrings" (chips actually) but still cute for little girls who had pierced ears.
Now they give away a "gold" (plated) charm bracelet but the charm for that port is $5. Of course, you don't have to buy the charm...you can still get the charm bracelet for free.
My youngest son brought one back for his "friend - girl" in the 6th grade. She loved it.
