While Belize is far from my fave port...we went there last feb (5 months pregnant) and booked our own tour to Belize Zoo. That was fun!
Freeport... didn't even leave ship when we went there June 2004!!!!!!
I love St Martin and St Thomas.
Don't forget to ask ship crew members what their
fave places to go/see. They are truly a good recource.
Favorite:Puerto Limon, Costa Rica (probably because we had the best tour guide to venture inwards)
Least Fav:Acapulco...tooooo pushy!
Fav embarkment: Miami...It's so thrilling to go to bed on the 19th floor, facing the port, and wake up to look out the big window to see ALL THOSE CRUISESHIPS!!!

RCI Radiance Of The Seas April/06 - 25th Annversary in Panama Canal
HA Volendam Sept/06 - Dad's Surprise in Alaska

might change my mind after next cruise...i get to see 4 new islands....right now Puerto Rico is my least favorite embarkation or port...we stayed there before and after our first cruise...was not impressed in any way by the island or the people...at least not in a good way....will go straight from airport to ship and back this time...if i ever stop there as a port i will just stay on board....as far as best port i would say barbados had friendly people (not pushy) and great excursions even without the rum punch. best island in my opinion is maui...hawaii is america's best destination cruise or no cruise, any carribean island is second rate by comparison.
Most favorite is hard, really hard, but probably Grenada. Closely followed by Bonaire, Tortolla, and Dominica. Favorite beach is definitely Trunk Bay which is the only reason I like going to St. Thomas. Least favorite Caracas.
Favorite (so far) is St.Thomas and/or St.John followed by Barbados.
Least Favorite: Ocho Rios (can you spell DUMP?), Jamaica followed by St. Martin(DUMPY). (Been to these too many times.also been to St. Thomas many times but can't get enough!)
Thought: Correct me if I'm wrong...I believe that a one's view of certain ports relates to the specific times that they were there, the weather, company, moods etc. Some people really love Jamaica (DUMP) but they might have had a few more cocktails than I had. Who knows maybe they got a hold of a bag of that weed they were trying to sell us. It's all relative (burp)
Favorite? All of them. Any place is fine as long as I am on a cruise. Just being away from home and sailing the Caribbean is fine with me. But, if I had to pick, I would say that Grenada was a beautiful island. Didn't enjoy Antigua too much.
Oh Grumpy's right! I totally forgot, Half Moon Cay is by far the best! (Holland America and Carnival's Private Cruise ship island in Bahamas). Man that place is an absolute paradise, closest thing to Heaven on
Earth, believe me..... & Grumpy!
Penny's right, Caracas, Venezula is a dump, visited there on a vacation 18-19 years ago, was staying in Puerto La Cruz and visited Caracas for a day, what a mistake! Saw rats in the street! We only went into the city, but we were told to be careful, some revolution going on at that time. We saw machine gun fire! No body died though (while we were there at least) ARGH! Maybe that's over now.
