My wife and I are taking a cruise out of Baltimore and the first port is Port Canaveral. Since we're there for 12 hours we decided to take the shuttle to Orlando and do one of the theme parks which we haven't done for years. Any suggestions as to which park to visit for one day? We're in our early 50's so we've ruled out the Magic Kingdom.
Well you can still do Disney without hitting the Kingdom. Try EPCOT. The world showcase can be done in one day and its like taking a bunch of mini vacations all over the world. If you are animal lovers, Animal Kingdom is great too.
If you absolutely don't want to do Disney, there is alway Seaworld or Universal studios. But Universal studios is geared more towards the younger crowd too.

I also vote for EPCOT. I love seeing the pavilions from many parts of the world, and talking to the young adults who work there. We've lingered over lunch in a couple of them, and it was very enjoyable.
We went to EPCOT about 10 years ago. Has it changed much since then? My wife mentioned Animal Kingdom. She has to have shoulder surgery right after the cruise so we'll be avoiding most rides.
Denjoker,,,I live in Orlando and go often to the parks,,and we re in our 60.s ,,,kids at heart,,,love Animal Kingdom,,,can take Safari ride,,which wont hurt wifes shoulder,,,,Epcot updates the exhibitions and adds new ones,,,so really your choice...both fun...any specific questions,,glad to help..great city at any age....
We took the train around Animal Kingdom and then walked because I wanted to see more animals. It was in the upper 80s and the animals were not very active or out in the open, but who can blame them They were working on some huge ride, but it wasn't finished. We did enjoy it, but I think I liked Epcot better. My favorite is still the Magic Kingdom.
Sea World is awesome. Of course, since that trainer was killed, I don't know if they still do the whale show. What magnificent creatures they are. When we were there, a baby had just been born, it was huge. I felt so sorry for the mom.
