Parasailing

My daughter and I will try parasailing for the first time, and I want to know a few things -- can I bring a camera? I bet there'd be awesome shots from up there. Also, our ports of call include San Juan, St Maarten, and Labadee. Are any of those better than the other as far as parasailing is concerned? Finally, what's the best bet for booking: directly from RCCL or finding something on our own at the port? Thanks sooo much!!

Just had my first parasailing experience in Key West and loved it! I did want to take pictures from up there but I thought I would be too scared to let go long enough! I wasn't. If you bring your camera, make sure it's waterproof just in case you get dunked or splashed. The power boat operators took a ton of pictures with their camera and sold the disc for $20. I bought it and really liked the pictures.

I don't know about your ports - haven't been there yet.

Hello. I have parasailed several times. I think it is a blast. You can definately bring a camera. If you want, you can ask if they will "dip you" in the water. They slow down and let you fall into the water for a "dip", then they speed back up, and back up into the air you go. It's a blast. As far as booking directly, I would assume its cheaper finding something on your own. If I remember, last I saw on RCCL website they wanted $75 for a parasail booked through them. That is more expensive, but saves you the hassle of spending the time, of trying to book it on your own. Several times in Mexico, I have walked up to the parasailers on the beach and gotten a ride for $20-25 bucks. I just had to wait my turn. Hope this helps, Lil' Lori

I took my DVD camcorder up with me and got some awesome video. St. Maarten or Lababee whould probably be the best places to parasail. In Labadee, you will have to book through the ship because it's RCCL's private Island. There's also a zipline in Labadee. You may want to try that.
