Where is the best place to get a taxi? We've been to Nassau on every cruise we've been on...we're not huge fans of it either but would like to check out Atlantis. There will be 4 adults in our group, my husband and I, and our friends that have never cruised before.

The taxis will be waiting right when you come outside the cruise terminal.

Sad to say it's going to be chaos whether you go through the terminal building or not. I'm not sure if they are letting people walk past the terminal building on the left or not. Seems like they were. Most are herded through the building for the taxis going to the same place. They then get a big enough group to fill the taxi and lead the group outside. Then the fun begins (not) with other vendors yelling to the group to get the fare or entice with excursions.

Having been there many times, I am pretty straight forward with them. IE; "I have a group of 8, 6 are going to Atlantis and 2 to the ferry terminal. They still make us wait to fill the taxi van to capacity.

Once you get passed the filling of the taxis chaos it is nice.

We negotiated with a driver at the pier. He took us through the mess. We also got to see more of the aquarium than we were supposed to be able to see. You can then go out the back of the Atlantis and a little to the right is Cabbage Beach. It is a public beach and quite nice. Of course, you can always stay in the Atlantis casino and donate to Nassau's economy

The Atlantis Casino is pleasantly uncrowded during the daytime and fairly large. It is to the right of the entry and I have found it to be very lucky......I left $300 to the better after 10 minutes of slot play. The key word here is...I Left the casino area!! Unfortunately I entered the shops shortly thereafter....Thus when I walked out of Atlantis my wallet was a tad lighter!!

Good for you Billy! Maybe I didn't play enough in there to get lucky. I only played with $20 on the slots and seems like it went fast. I can play on $20 in the ship casino for alot longer. Well, it depends on the machine.
