taxi to any beach-bahamas

o.k. cruising SUNDAY!!!! Yeah! anyone ever just taken a taxi to like Cable Beach on there own???? or any other beach ????

Definitly take the taxi. The Water Taxis are dangerous and the buses are kind of scary. The taxi driver will pick up as many people as he can to get a full fare (minivan type of taxis)so you may take an extra 20 minutes to get somewhere if you get into an empty cab! The beaches are worth it so don't let this posting scare you. have fun!

I loved the city buses. they are modern and clean and airconditioned. It will take you to cable beach or any other beach for that matter. but you need to do what you feel safe with...but stay off of the water taxi....to dangerous

What's wrong with the water taxis? My daughter (16) and I used the water taxis in August with out any problems. We did learn that the walk to the beach is very long. (Longer on a hot day)

The water taxis had no visual life jackets. they over load the boat. they are double deckers, if the boat starts taking on water the people on the bottom deck are in big trouble. it is definately a tragic accident waiting to happen. they are not governed by rules and regulations that we have come to expect in the United States. You hear all the time of ferrys going down and killing people. bet there were no life jackets and it was over loaded.
cable beach is a 7 mile beach in nassau. insteaded of heading to the left like you would to go to atlantis. it is to the right. they have showers there, places to get food. very clean...
