Going to San Juan in August - Is there a good beach there? For a first timer what is a must do in San Juan?

The walking tour of Old San Juan is interesting, the Condado Beach section is good, and as ChucksOK reminded me--the Bacardi Rum factory. Don't know how I forgot to mention that Best wishes!

It's been 30 years since I've been to Puerto Rico, but I do remember Loquillo Beach - beats the Condado if you have the time.

Thanks for the info. - is this beach close to the docking area. We are in San Juan from 7 - 3:30 - I was thinking about doing the walking tour early - then maybe hit the beach from 11 - 2. or What should I have time for? I want to see and do as much as I can.

If you have time and have any interest, Old San Juan is very interesting. The little alleys and El Morro are very picturesque. And, there are cats all over the place, as I recall.

If you are on a Carnival cruise, your ship docks within walking distance of Old San Juan. The other pier (Pan American?) is a cab ride from everything.

We went a night early and stayed in the Condado area. It's more modern, of course. The beach behind the Marriott was beautiful. And, if you like pizza, Danny's is great!

Have fun!!
