southern carribean in late august

We are considering a cruise to aruba, barbados, dominica & st. thomas in late august but were concerned that weather could be an option due to rain, threat of hurricanes, poor diving conditions (we're scuba divers and like to go at least in two ports). What do you all think? Just wondering everyone's opinion. We could go in late July or early august but it is significantly cheaper later in the month. Any replies are greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't let the threat of hurricanes deter your plans. Aruba lies south of the hurricane belt so the threat is minimal there. Actually the Caribbean is susceptible to hurricanes from July-October so going earlier would not guarantee any better weather than late August.

Just be certain to purchase insurance. Huricanes are a fact of life in that area, (Aruba doesnt get hit by the storms) and that time of year is heavy huricane season. That is why the prices are so low.
