Constellation Feb 15 St. Thomas question

Interested in shore excursions on St. Thomas: either Atlantis submarine 1 1/2 hrs or Island Drive and Coral World. Is there time to do both?
is Coral World worth it? Can we get there on our own. Saw the island 25 yrs ago and know it's pretty touristy. Any suggestions for private tours, snorkeling vs. shopping, etc.

I've been to St. Thomas a few times, but never did Coral World or the Submarine, though the latter sounds fun. Coral World is next to Coki Beach, easily the worst beach on St. Thomas. It's small and crowded. Magen's Bay is the best. If you want to snorkel and have time, I'd ferry over to St. John and get to Trunk Bay, or better yet, get on a boat for a snorkel or dive trip. The cruise ship might offer such a trip. I'm not much of a shopper. Downtown St. Thomas is interesting. Lots of historic old buildings and a zillion shops. The most fun things to do in the Virgin Islands, I think, is nosing around St. John.

This was our 3rd time to St. Thomas, and we did the Coral World tour. Coral World is a small aquarium, where you get to see a variety different aquatic species. Tour also makes a few other photo opt stops. They dropped us off in the city for shopping. We enjoyed the tour, but then it's probably not for everyone. Don't know where the other tour leaves from, so not sure it you'd have enough time to do both. Just keep in mind, St. Thomas traffic is horrendous. There were only 5 ships in the day we were in, but they've had as many as 12 ships in a day. Allow yourself PLENTY of time to get back to the ship.
